More Sims 3 goodness

Starsha Simme, Gage and their family continue to grow, as Sims are prone to do. I'm discovering a lot to discover in this game. Things to collect, Opportunities that feel like mini-quests. The more I play it, the more I like it. :) However, my big complaint right now, is Weddings PHAIL. They failed to include a wedding arch, even the wedding rings have to be added to outfits in Create a Style, by adding it as an accessory. I only discovered this recently, so most of my pictures don't show wedding rings on married Sims. Sigh.

Lelaah, miss Evil Twin, keeps spinning up a wish to Steal Candy from a Baby. I usually deny it, but she took Tommy out of his crib when he woke up, set him down, and stole a lollipop from him. Who knew he had a lolli somewhere in that nappy. Ewww. *giggles*

Doesn't he look so sad about it? He didn't even KNOW he had candy, and now he knows, but can't have it. Poor wee baby.

Later on, when it was time to put him down, Lelaah volunteered, tucked him in, then turned around and started flipping out. She makes weeeeird faces and talks to herself a lot. Insane sims are interesting, that's for sure. ;)

Tina, one of the elder twins, really loves playing the guitar. She likes playing in the park. People just stop and watch and tap their foot along with the music. It's kinda nice, but even when they play at home, people will stop what they're doing just to watch. Sigh.

Since I accidentally aged up Tisha and Tina before they were due, I had the chance to age up Lionel Wainright. He was best friends with both girls growing up, and as teenagers he and Tisha developed a romance. I didn't want that romance to fade, so I grabbed a birthday cake, invited him over, and sure enough, when the pop up came for me to select which sim Blows out the Candles, he was in it, so he got to grow up too!

As you can see, Tisha is quite pleased that he grew up, and they can resume their quiet, shy little romance. They're so cute. Subtle flirts, shy kisses, hugs. But now that they're grown up....

They can sneak off for quiet romantic moments alone, without worrying about curfew. :)

Back at home Tisha took the opportunity to read a story to Tommy before tucking him in for the night. She gained Family-Oriented as her adult trait, so she has these wants to do things with her baby brother.

I caught this right as the Grim Reaper was fading away. This is Cornelia Goth. Sigh. So sad when they grow old and die. Layna got to witness it and see her very first ghost. She wasn't scared at all, but then she has the Brave trait.

Little Tommy's birthday. Just a family gathering. It's in the morning, everyone's still in their undies too, obviously. :)

Well, except for Lelaah. She doesn't wear the right clothes. She works out in formal wear, goes jogging in it even. Sleeps in her swimsuit. She's just a strange one, indeed.

Tommy grew up to be quite the cutie. He doesn't look too impressed with his dad standing there in his little yellow ducky undies though! *snicker*

Her's Tommy after his makeover. Yeah, the poor boy needed glasses. He looks good in them.

Right after he changed appearance, he started doing this in the mirror. I thought only teens did that. LOL. It was cute and funny to watch.

Now, another thing I really don't like in The Sims 3... painting a still life. It's UGLY! You get this horrible screen (Click here to see) and you have this teeny little box to frame the picture in. It's REALLY difficult to position, and not at all friendly. This is a still life Tina did and I captured Lionel when he came to visit.

Here's how Lionel looked when he came to visit. No more painting realistic portraits to hang on the wall. Later on when her skill is even higher, and she has the actual option to 'paint portrait' they don't come out too much better. They still look stylized and kinda blah.

Lionel has the Childish trait. Also Daredevil, Mooch... I can't recall what else. His lifetime wish is the one where you master the painting and guitar skills.

He stays for dinner, but wound up spending most of his visit playing in the sprinklers, or playing with the dollhouse. LOL

But afterward, it wasn't too difficult to convince him to spend the night, and forget his childish wishes and focus on his woman. Yowza! :)

They look so happy together. ;)

The next morning.. Tisha proposed. She's such a sweet thing. I couldn't let them shack up like her parents have all these years. Heheh.

So the wedding was planned and took place not long after. She has her white and pink dress. It's a night time wedding, I arranged it to try to get some pretty shots. THis was the best of the bunch, sadly.

Everyone gathered awkwardly around the area. Nobody would sit on the benches I had placed. They just gawked at the couple exchanging rings, and applauded after.

Exchanging vows, Tisha's phone starts ringing! OMG. Leave her alone, she's trying to get married for cryin' out loud!

Somehow they manage to make it through and finish their vows, and share their first kiss as a married couple.

Starsha's very happy. She gets a moodlet for Mother of the Bride, that boosts her mood for awhile. It was very sweet.

Another moment of PHAIL. Before the wedding party, I had Gage fishing at the park. When the party started, I canceled it out and told him to head home. He got STUCK here. So he spun into his formal clothes, and kept trying to get home. He missed the wedding. Silly game. I had to go into Edit Town, and remove the fence behind him so he could move. Sigh.

Lionel moves in, and here's his makeover. He had the same hairstyle as Gage, and I didn't want that, so I went with a different style that seems to fit his personality a little better.

Here's Evil Twin, having been in her Formal wear, and now she's just .. sitting on the edge of the tub. Sitting. That's all her action icon says too. Sitting. O.O Why? Move you crazy loon! LOL

Course, while she was sitting there, she had company run into the bathroom. Uh, aren't you supposed to be enjoying your wedding night Tisha? Heehee

Yep, brushing your teeth might just be a wise idea. She never seemed to notice her crazy sister sitting on the edge of the tub, just staring off into space.

We close with a shot of the parents of the Bride. Gage already got into his undies, but Starsha stayed dressed up awhile longer. Starsha's now spinnign up wishes to have another baby. OMG no way! I helped you raise FIVE, that's enough. Give your eldest a chance now!

Little toddler Tommy looks so cute in that hair. Glad to see a male toddler WITH hair for a change. :O)) Although, I'm not sure about his shirt. It makes it look like he's got sweat rings under his arms. :O| The Insane Face looks good on Leelah. It just seems to fit her well. *snicker* Toddlers and children really do have very round faces though. :O\ I haven't tried painting anything yet, but from what I'd seen in previews, I thought it was something I'd like ... since the painting style is dependent on their skill. So ... maybe as she gets better at painting, the portraits will get better. Congrats to the happy couple! :O) I do like his makeover. That hair looks good on him. Oops! Looks like the next generation is on its way. :O))

I have Lionel painting a lot since he wants to max painting and guitar, and his portraits seem slightly better than the one Tina did. So maybe skill-dependent is accurate. I'll keep watching his painting skill develop and see how the portraits improve as he improves. :)

Comment from a random stranger... I'm loving your story so far :) I've been reading a bit of Sims 3 stories since it was released and while waiting to get my copy but I must say yours is still my favourite ^^ Evil twin sitting on the bathtub = win.

Maxis 1: So, were there any other interactions you thought we should add to the bathtub?
Maixs 2: Uh yeah, it totally needs a sit action!

LOL! Thanks for commenting. (This is my primary LJ btw, simslegacy is solely for Sims stuff) Glad you're enjoying it. I have yet to put it into 'story' writing, but I'm having loads of fun exploring the new Sims game.

If interested, my Sims 2 blog can be found here: http://www.sarianastar.com/ts2/mylegacy.html ... I've been playing the same family since December 2004, through 25 generations. :)

OMG, yeah I tried the painting a still life thing and it was annoying as it doesn't pause the game and you can't pause the game when it's started and then it turns out awful. I think the Sim doing it only had 6 painting points, tho, so I'll have to see how a level 10 painter does.

I put a little blonde boy in glasses too, hee hee. It is really cute. Another fun update! I haven't done an Insane Sim yet; they seem like a hoot!

Aeronwy

*blinks* Wedding rings don't show up? Really?? I never noticed that with Brynn and Christopher! I'll have to look at Madison and her husband (who's name I'm forgetting).

Who knew Tommy had a lollipop the size of his HEAD in his nappy! *shudders*

I love, love, love, LOVE that we can customize the guitars for our Sims! *swoons* Madison plays guitar and when she was a teen, it was all pink and black with skulls. Now that she's an adult, she's got a stylish black and gray one with no decorations. Her music is all the descoration she needs. (She's up to level 7 in her guitar now.)

(Hey, can you age up more than one person with a single cake? Or do you have to age one, then the other, than any friends they've got?)

Heh, something about Lionel makes me think of my Landon Doe. That sorta geeky, kinda sweet look about him. (Although Landon has turned into a quite the overweight guy since he's gotten out from under my controlling thumb.)

*snickers loudly* I love his dad's ducky undies! *cackles* But no, Tommy doesn't look impressed by that. *giggles again*

I guess he thinks he looks all dashing and debonair in his new haircut and glasses. *grins*

Yeah, I am NOT happy about still lives either. When she was still a teen, I'd had Madison paint one of the house across the bay from her (which turned out to be where her now-husband lived and so she got to move into). The painting came out SO DARK (even though it was a daytime snapshot) that it looked like blobs of black on the canvas and nothing more. :( It would have been very neat for her to have painted that house when she was a teen, only to turn out moving into when she was an adult. *sigh* (What really stinks is she'd painted this AWESOME random picture of a chipmunk, all in dots... it looked SO GOOD... and when she moved out of her house and into her husband's, the painting was gone. :( The one she'd done as a child, her very first painting, was there, but not the really nice one I wanted. *sigh*)

Lionel has the same LTW as Madison! *giggles* It's been fun working her up through painting and guitar. She's always deliriously happy, since both are fun occupations.

Pretty wedding setting though. :-D (But I agree, I'm incredibly disappointed in EAxis lack of attention of weddings.) Unfortunately, both Brynn and Christopher died without seeing any of their kids get married. *sniffles*

Yikes! Poor Gage, missing his daughter's wedding. :( I like Lionel's makeover! *cheers*

I'm guessing Tisha already enjoyed her wedding night a few days ago and is paying the price for such enjoyment. *waggles her eyebrows*

Haha, too funny that Starsha wants MORE kids! *cackles*

Re: Aeronwy

No, cake only works for one sim. Least as far as I can tell. LOL

I love Create-a-Style so much! Makes everyday objects unique to each person's game. ;)

Lionel is almost maxed in painting, and his still-life pics are still nasty, and the option to paint portrait works, but the portraits don't come out any better than the still life ones. Sigh.

Thanks for the comments. :)

From Arkali

That's so awesome :-) I love your updates. Yeah, right now I don't even see much point with trying to do a wedding party. Reward =/= effort from what I've seen. The glasses on the little boy is just too cute. And Tisha's man is a cutie! And no - no sixth child! Holy moses! :-)

Re: From Arkali

Aye, I definitely hope they FIX the silly weddings in the near future. Be it store stuff, a patch, an EP. Something. Oy.

The Sims still the Best

whoa! I really missed playing the Sims..Last 2006, our playstation 2 was crushed, most of the time I played THE SIMS rather than any games. I simply love customizing them. Wearing them with different clothes (e.g. formal wear, suits, tuxedos, chic gown)..Mostly, I love the facial expression and every time they make love. Can someone donate to me a PS2..It will appreciated..
